In December 2025, INAERO worked with MGT and Bear Rock Consulting to investigate geothermal potential in Nevis using drone-based Very Low Frequency (VLF) and magnetic surveys. The activity and team roles are confirmed by INAERO.
Geophysical survey collaboration
The work continued cooperation with partners also involved in the Saint Kitts groundwater survey. The Nevis assignment focused on acquiring geophysical data for geothermal investigation.
Nevis geothermal programme developments
In May 2026, the Nevis administration announced a drilling contract with Iceland Drilling in support of a planned 30 MW power plant. The rig underwent inspection in Iceland ahead of mobilisation in August.
An October 2026 update covered civil works and water infrastructure preparations at Hamilton with NEVLEC, Iceland Drilling and COWI. These reports describe the broader programme; they do not establish a direct link between INAERO’s survey results and drilling-location decisions.
